The signing ceremony of a strategic cooperation agreement between Midea Group and the Swimming Administrative Center of the General Administration of Sport of China was held at 13:30p.m on May 23 in the News Release Hall of the General Administration of Sport of China in Beijing. Mr. Duan Shije, Vice Minister of the General Administration of Sport of China, Huang Xiaoming, Vice President of Midea Group, Li Hua, Director of the Swimming Administrative Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, Dong Xiaohua, Marketing Director of Midea Group as well as the main coaches and athlete representatives of China Diving Team and Swimming Team have been present at the ceremony. According to the agreement, Midea Group will make huge investment to provide strong backing support to China Diving Team and Swimming Team. Meanwhile, Midea Group will further enlarge its brand influence through elegant image and competitive sport strength presented in the games held abroad and at home by the “Chinese Water Teams” (Swimming and Diving Teams).
According to the agreement, Midea will become the prime sponsor of the Swimming Administrative Center of the General Administration of Sport of China in two years to support comprehensively the China Diving Team and Swimming Team to make good preparation for 2008 Olympic Games and other important international games. In return, the sport teams or athletes under the management of the Swimming Administrative Center will make contribution to the brand construction of Midea Group according to the relevant contents of the agreement signed. It is generally considered by the insiders that this cooperation, the great support of Midea Group will help the strong China Diving Team stronger and the China Swimming Team at hard times temporarily to revitalize just like “delivering a coal to someone who is struck in the snow”. At the same time, the “cooperation” has deeper inner connection. The diving and swimming which bring beauty enjoyment to the human beings with their elegance and speed are in accordance with the concept of Midea Group, namely “Pursuing Superior Quality and Creating Nice Life”.
